TESTIMONIALS

Professor Pricklethorn rocked the tree house during the 2011 STIHL Tour des Trees (Virginia Beach to Washington) and the TREE Fund is delighted to welcome him back for the 2012 Oregon Tour. Kids and trees go together like peanut butter and jelly, and the Professor's message of "Give Trees A Chance" had kids of all ages spreading mulch and singing along. Thank you for helping us get kids excited about trees and giving us all a reason to sing.

Thanks to Professor Pricklethorn for teaching the students at Dougall Public School about the importance of trees.  He kept students engaged, from grade 2 to grade 5 (as well as their teachers!).  With a combination of humour, audience participation, and even a musical number to close, all were entertained while learning at the same time.  Our students left the presentation knowing more about plant life, but feeling like they were part of a show.  Thanks for making Science come alive!

Professor Pricklethorn's visit to Summit Heights P.S. was simply "tree"-mendous! His use of props, costumes and literature totally engaged our Kindergarten children. They laughed and learned, they sang and enjoyed. He truly brought to life the importance of trees in our world and how we should respect our environment.

We had a wonderful time and learned a lot with Professor Pricklethorn. In fact my own child pointed out a sidewalk that was cracked and lifted, because of tree roots, shortly after the visit and he told me that it was because someone had not planted the right tree in the right place and that Professor Pricklethorn wouldn't be able to help them. It was fantastic! Thank you for this wonderful opportunity for our kids!

Professor Pricklethorn “blessed” our special tree during his fun ceremony and it is now growing new and healthy roots.  He also reminded us how important trees are for everything: air, food, you name it!  The Professor told us about the research conducted about views out hospital rooms to trees versus bricks. The Professor stressed that trees add to quality of life and public health for everyone on our planet, and that trees anchor many forms of nature. They give us good health and a sense well-being especially if we take good care of them.

Professor Pricklethorn’s presentation about photosynthesis was a hit. Our students enjoyed his quirky yet informative show.  He employed engaging props, costumes and interactive role playing.   They were delighted to  plant  a tree  and have enjoyed watching it grow and change with the seasons. His show is truly an event that promotes life-long learning and loving of trees. Thank you Professor Pricklethorn.

Professor Elwood Pricklethorn's tree preaching has made me a BeLeafer ! He was a sliver short of stealing the whole dang show.
